Sunday June 7, 2009 – Rick opened with 1 John 2.16:
For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a
craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions.
These are not from the Father, but are from this world.
He continued by talking about temptation using this verse as
an explanation of what it is. It is pride that takes us down that crooked
road of sin. He encouraged the boys to realize that God is ready to
help. All they have to do is ask. Pray to your Father to lead you not
into temptation but deliver you from the evil one. He closed with prayer.
Lyndee recognized Joe who has successfully completed the
Pegasus program and then led the boys in singing his favorite song “Shout to
the Lord” Ken prayed a blessing on Joe.
