2010-01-10 Luis - Praise-Part 1

Sunday, January 10, 2010 – Rick opened our Pegasus Worship Service welcoming all the new Pegasus residents.  He defined the purpose of the Lockhart Pegasus Ministry team which is to present the gospel to the boys.  To do our best to introduce them to Jesus Christ and the Word of God, to be faithful in prayer on their behalf.

Cindy led the boys in singing; “Here we are to Worship”, “Mighty to Save”, “I can only Imagine”, “My savior, My God” and “Amazing Grace”.

Everyone was pleased to have Ben return to minister to the boys.  He talked about the New Year from a secular view and the fact that every day for him is a new year freshen by the newness of the Spirit.  Everyday is a new beginning thanks to the blood of Jesus Christ shed for us. He talked about his own conversion at 8 years old and what a wonderful experience that was as a man of God laid his hands on him and he received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

He moved with  grace from speaking to singing “The Longer I Serve Him”, “Sweeter as the Days go by” and “I Keep Falling in Love with Jesus”.

Ben closed his portion of the morning worship service by encouraging us to look for a new vision for Pegasus.

Our morning speaker was Luis Amaya whose subject was “Praise”.  He talked of his own salvation experience in October 1983 where he was attending church with a baby in his arms and drunk.  How when God touch him with the “New Birth” all that drunkenness left and instead of being full of alcohol he became full of the joy of the Lord.  He went home and through away every liquor bottle in his home.  Anyone looking at his trash would have thought it was the remains of a big party instead of a sinful life.

His text was Psalm 150 Psalm:

Psalm 150 (New Living Translation)

1 Praise the Lord!

Praise God in his sanctuary;

praise him in his mighty heaven!
 2
Praise him for his mighty works;
      praise his unequaled greatness!
 3
Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;

praise him with the lyre and harp!
 4
Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
      praise him with strings and flutes!
 5
Praise him with a clash of cymbals;

praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
 6 Let everything that breathes sing
praises to the Lord!

Praise the Lord!

 He spoke of the blessings of the Lord who is worthy to be praised and the need to keep his word because His blessings are conditional.

Ken closed the service having the boys recite the 23rd Psalm.
